Finally!Ī few months went by since I was very busy with CS exams and whatnot until recently, but more and more of the keys started to feel sticky and didn't register. Tried a re-swap 3rd unit seemed fine out of the box. They admitted to the issue and offered me a swap. To prove my case in the shop, I made following video demonstrating the issue. Immediately after unboxing I noticed issues with the spacebar that didn't register clicks uniformly - especially right side of the key was spongy and didn't behave accordingly. I will obviously RMA it again if the keyboard starts to make hiccups again.īeing a happy MBP owner since the very first generation, I bought the MacBook Pro 2016 (with Touch Bar) back in May. Am typing this right now with multiple tabs of Twitch TV, chess analysis' running with infinite depth and other CPU heavy tasks and the keyboard is not getting too affected though some keys has started to feel a little sticky/pop sounding (the 'G' and 'H' keys seems different from the rest). It's hard to say if they now use the enhanced keyboard from the 2017 models, and the flawed 2016 replacement is thus avoided. The new keyboard definitely feels better than the original ever did.

EDIT FOR PEOPLE FINDING THIS IN THE FUTURE: Got it repaired in a procedure where they replace the entire top case of the MacBook which makes it look/smell like a new Mac.
